It’s been quite the year. It’s hard to align one's personal experience of a year passing to what becomes collective memory. I sometimes think the closest we get to participating in collective experience is that of experiencing the world through the remove of a newsfeeds. And if we are going to remember 2016 by current events we choose to follow, then maybe it was rather grim…. I tell you what though, what’s more common than choosing to follow the news, death…. Regardless of the year, in fact I’m pretty sure at some point in life everybody will get to dance….
Hapori presents Waltzing Macabre Featuring contributions from Tom Tuke Ronan Perry Lee Rachael Duval Joanna Neumegen Anna Sisson
It’s fair to say this one’s been hectic…. Tom has written a play, it’s about a woman on a dessert island and a bunch of grim reapers. And Ronan decided that manual labour might be a romantic career path. He changed his mind. Anyway, we’re going to put on a show with our friends; it’s going to be in Ronan’s garage, where that Ferrari space used to be. It’s going to be a show about death, dancing with death, walking with death – the feeling of moving through life when the end appears not the destination but something always right beside you.
